• Know the Word of God deeply and are able to discern the season.
• Walk in intimacy with Jesus, hearing His voice clearly.
• Have insight into what God is doing and how to respond rightly.
• Can lead others in truth, courage, and hope amid darkness.

In Matthew 24, Jesus repeatedly warned of deception in the last days. In verse 4, He said, “Take heed that no one deceives you.” Again in verses 11 and 24, He highlights false prophets and false christs who will deceive many—even the elect, if possible. The antidote to deception is understanding the truth.

The apostle Paul also emphasized this. In 1 Thessalonians 5:1–6, he tells the Church that the Day of the Lord will not overtake those who are awake and sober, but only those who are asleep. He expected believers to live in such a way that they would not be surprised by the timing of Jesus’ return.
